Project Description:
MassBroadband 123 was a design-build project with the goal of providing the necessary broadband infrastructure to foster economic growth, improve health care and education, and strengthen public safety. The project required more than 1000 miles of existing overhead utility relocations in order to accommodate the new infrastructure. In early 2014, the project team completed construction of the project – approximately 1,200 miles of fiber-optic network connecting 123 communities in western and north-central Massachusetts to high-speed Internet.
